Pictionary and Politics: Game Night with Misael for Austin City Council
RSVP for this free neighborhood event!
Austin’s East Side has always been a hub for tight-knit community action, local creativity, and passionate advocacy. On Saturday, July 18th, neighbors have a unique opportunity to mix local civic discussion with casual fun right at a favorite neighborhood spot.
Dear Diary Coffee is opening its doors for a special evening: Game Night with Misael for Austin!
If you live on the East Side or want to have a direct hand in discussing the future of Austin City Council District 1, this is your chance to ditch the formal town halls and connect over a game board instead.
What to Expect: Pictionary with a Local Twist
Campaign events don’t have to be stuffy. This Saturday evening, community members are coming together to grab a drink and play a lively round of community-themed Pictionary.
While you scribble out your best artistic interpretations of Austin themes, you’ll get to chat directly with Misael Ramos. Misael is an East Austin native, community organizer, housing champion, and neighborhood president running to represent District 1 on the Austin City Council.
The goal of the evening? To talk about the real issues facing working-class people on the east side—like pushing for truly affordable housing and ensuring neighborhood voices win over powerful special interests—all while keeping the vibe relaxed, fun, and completely accessible.
Meet Misael Ramos
For those following the District 1 race, Misael’s platform is built heavily around grassroots advocacy and community-driven development. In addition to his campaign, he serves as the board president for the Blackland Community Development Corporation and is deeply involved with anti-displacement initiatives and historic neighborhood preservation on the East Side.
"In these times, we need leadership who will bring real solutions to the table and ensure our voices win over powerful interests." — Misael Ramos
Whether you want to talk about community-led housing development or just see how well he can sketch under a time limit, it’s a rare opportunity to meet a candidate in a true "third space" environment.
