Vegan Girlfriend Bakery

Vegan Girlfriend is a cottage bakery operated by Amalia Litsa, who also owns Dear Diary Coffee. The brand allows Litsa to test recipes and sell them independently.

Testing Recipes

Dear Diary only sells the best of the best, and all Dear Diary products are manufactured at Dear Diary’s coffee shop location. The shop is a registered food manufacturer in the State of Texas, and a permitted food business in the City of Austin.

How does Dear Diary Coffee find the best of the best, though?

That’s where Vegan Girlfriend comes in. Litsa, the owner of Dear Diary Coffee, loves to bake and fine-tune recipes. She iterates through lots of recipes before finding the perfect ones. If a recipe is good enough, she teaches her staff how to make it.

During the testing phase, the cottage brand Vegan Girlfriend allows Litsa to sell her baked goods to the public directly and collect feedback. This is allowable under Texas Cottage Food Law.

Vegan Girlfriend brand baked goods are baked in Litsa’s home kitchen, not at the coffee shop. However, Litsa practices the same food handling safety guidelines when baking for cottage customers.

Selling Independently

Buy law, the sale of Vegan Girlfriend baked goods must be handled directly between the customer and Amalia Litsa. This means that Dear Diary Coffee cannot accept payment on behalf of Amalia Litsa.

Vegan Girlfriend also functions as Litsa’s part time job. Owning a tiny coffee shop in Austin doesn’t quite meet the cost of living in this city, so a lot of small business owners have second and third jobs. Litsa is no exception!

How to Pay Vegan Girlfriend

You can pay Litsa for Vegan Girlfriend baked goods in the following ways:

Celiac Advisory

All Vegan Girlfriend items are definitely vegan, but they are baked in a kitchen where sometimes wheat products are cooked as well. Also, the chickpea, rice, and other flours used are frequently purchased from Indian, Chinese, or Korean grocery stores, and their brands do not typically have Gluten Free certification.

Please read the ingredient list and allergy statement on Vegan Girlfriend labels. Do not eat anything that contains ingredients that might make you sick.
