One of the absolute best things about Dear Diary Coffee is how deeply rooted they are in the Austin community. They don't just serve incredible vegan treats and specialty caffeine; they create spaces where neighbors actually talk to neighbors.
Their bilingual language exchange events—known simply as Language Club—are a perfect example. Whether you are looking to brush up on your conversational Spanish, practice your English, or simply want to hang out with a wonderfully diverse group of locals, this is the spot to do it.

Language apps are great, but nothing replaces the real thing. Sitting down over a coffee and laughing through a conversation with a real human being is how language actually sticks.
Dear Diary’s Language Club is designed to be entirely low-pressure and welcoming. You don't need to be fluent—in fact, being a beginner is half the fun!
When & Where
Language Club meets every Friday at 6:00 PM at Dear Diary Coffee (1212 Chicon St, Austin, TX). The weekly sessions will run regularly through the end of September, giving you plenty of time to build your skills and your community.
How It Works
The Structure: The evening is typically split so that everyone gets a chance to practice. You might spend the first half chatting entirely in Spanish, and the second half switching over to English.
The Atmosphere: It’s relaxed, casual, and supportive. Everyone is there to learn, everyone makes mistakes, and everyone helps each other out.
The Perks: Excellent coffee, amazing company, and a shared space with fellow Austinites who want to build a more connected community.
